Funding Cancer Research in Wisconsin
The third goal of the Spierings Cancer Foundation is to fund Cancer Research in our own state of Wisconsin. Roughly 20% of all of the funds we raise is used to provide money for cancer researchers throughout our state who are in the beginning stages of research or looking for better ways to treat the many forms of cancer.
We have provided funds to the University of Wisconsin’s Carbone Cancer Center’s Head and Neck Cancer Task Force. We have provided seed money to researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin to study treatment methods and strategies for the better treatment of Pancreatic Cancer and Breast Cancer. And we have provided funds toward the cost of medical trials at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Cancer Center in Green Bay.
